4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde is used as a reagent in the synthesis of chalcones and aurones as selective MAO-B inhibitors. 4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde is also used as a reagent in the preparation of new aryloxyindole-4,9-diones as potent trypanosomicidal agents.
