3-Bromo-4-methoxybenzaldehyde is used in the synthesis of PDE4D allosteric modulators. 3-Bromo-4-methoxybenzaldehyde is also used to synthesize chalcones, as inhibitors for topoisomerase I and cathepsin B/L.
