2,6-Di-tert-Butyl-4-methylpyridine is used as a catalyst in the rapid assembly of complex oligosaccharides. Also a catalyst for the stereoselective construction of C(20) in steroidal derivatives in the synthesis of epimeric structural analogs in pharmaceuticals.
