Ethyl 2-Chloracetoacetate is used in the preparation of oxazoles and thiazoles as agonists for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor ╬┤. It is also used to synthesize dimethylimidazothiadiazolecarbohydrazides with anticancer activities.
