2-Isopropoxy-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane was used in the synthesis of Alternariol [A575760] which is an alternaria mycotoxin and genotoxin, found in common edible crops. Also used in synthesis of highly efficient nanostructured organosilicon luminophore with fast photoluminescence.
