3-Nitro-4-hydroxyquinoline is a heterocyclic compound useful in the preparation of imidazoquinolinamines as allosteric modulators of A3 adenosine receptor, preparation of allosteric inhibitors of MALT1, and preparation of dual inhibitors of epidermal growth factor receptor and topoisomerase IIa. It can also be useful in the preparation of N-(2,4-Di-tert-butyl-5-hydroxyphenyl)-4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxamide (VX-770, Ivacaftor), a CFTR potentiator which may be used in the treatment of cystic fibrosis.
